The aim of every artists is to arrest motion, that is life, with artificial means. -- William Faulkner

This site is designed for Firebird, Mozilla, and Galeon. IE only marginally works. And I don't know what happens with Safari. When in doubt, get Firebird.

My name is Michael J. Hammel. I'm a software developer currently working for RLX Technologies in Houston, Texas. My main software focus is the desktop, working with graphical toolkits like GTK+ and GNOME, web design and programming in C, Perl and PHP though my career has ranged from operating systems to telecommunications to storage and server management software. This site is my own personal SourceForge (though it's not based on that code in any way), designed by me and integrating open source tools like PMWiki and PHP Bug Tracker. The site is here to make software I've written available to the public and to open its development up to anyone who wants to join in.

I'm also a writer. In fact, one of the reasons for designing this web site was to move away from software development in my spare time and more into writing. My hope is that other developers will pick up the work of keeping these projects alive (with my support of project management, server space and some coding) so that I can evolve into my next career as an author. I've spent nearly 30 years working on code. Its time to look towards what I might do in the future.

If you'd like to get involved with any of these projects, just drop me an email at mjhammel at graphics-muse dot org.

What is XEUS?

XEUS stands for Ximba End User Software. Ximba is the new name for the Graphics Muse. XEUS is my own personal SourceForge.

Ximba focuses on desktop software (including graphics). XEUS is the web site that makes this software publicly available as well opening the software to public contribution.

If you're interested in contributing to a project with coding, artwork, documentation or support expertise, just send me a note: mjhammel at graphics-muse dot com.
